About Patience Maples

Patience Maples, of Lake Guntersville Real Estate, will help you get your deal done right!  Patience has been in the real estate business since 1997, when she started selling in Texas.  In 2006, Patience and her family moved to Guntersville, Alabama where she has been since.  She is the past President of Marshall County Board of Realtors (2016, 2017), she is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Multiple Listing Service and she is a Director for the Marshall County Board of Realtors.  She is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Alabama Association of Realtors as well as the Marshall County Board of Realtors.  Also, in December of 2006, was recognized as a “Role Model” for the community by the Marshall County Board of Realtors.  Patience initially got into real estate because she enjoyed spending time with and helping people, as well as getting the opportunity to visit and experience so many different houses.  As she says, “Putting these two of my passions together into a career allowed me to live the best of both worlds.  I haven’t regretted my choice to become a realtor and am thankful every day that I get to do this for a living. I truly enjoy every aspect of being a Realtor.”  Patience finds that helping an individual or a couple find their first home is extremely rewarding.  “The American dream is alive and well and I love to see it come together.  I also enjoy helping people find a vacation home.  For many of my clients, a lake house is the tool they use to reconnect to their family.”

Patience specializes in finding people their dream lake houses and vacation homes, although she enjoys selling homes of all descriptions.  Having worked with clients from 19 to 96, Patience tells us that she enjoys working with them and everyone in between.  She especially loves helping out relocation clients because “they are coming to a beautiful part of the world!  It is great to see the look of their faces as they experience Guntersville for the first time.”   Guntersville is fortunate to have a wonderful lake which allows the housing market to remain relatively stable.  The Guntersville market, just like all markets, has its pendulum swings up and down, but Guntersville does not have the wide swings of California and Florida.

According to Patience, the biggest difficulty in the going through the process of buying a new home is financing.  “Financing has changed dramatically of the last five years.  FHA, VA and Rural Development loans are very good options for some buyers while conventional financing is perfect for others.  Second homes now require 20% down (with very few exceptions). First mortgages are more flexible.”  Patience also adds that it is important to have an experienced agent who can help point you in the right direction.  For first-time homebuyers, Patience recommends getting pre-qualified.  “Clients need to start their search in a realistic, comfortable price range.  Decide on an area you like, decide on a price range you are comfortable with and then your search can be fun and successful!”
“I am serious about helping you achieve your real estate goals”

Patience Maples is the agent who is right for you because she possesses a good working knowledge of the market, the area, available financing, schools, community, and upcoming community changes.  Patience remains dedicated to a client, helping them from the “looking stage” through to the closing table.  As a professional real estate agent, Patience is serious about helping people reach their real estates goals and is willing to work with inspectors, mortgage brokers, insurance agents, closing attorneys, and her clients to make sure that their deal is done correctly the first time.  For Patience, real estate isn’t just a job, it’s a rewarding part of her life.  “When the right person and the right property come together it is unbeatable.  When the CEO of a large corporation finally purchases that dream lake home to enjoy with their family – that’s rewarding!  When a single mother finds a house and a neighborhood that is just right for her and her children – that’s rewarding.  When a senior couple find the house that is going to let them cut down on yard work and put more time into enjoying each other – that’s rewarding!  When a first time home buyer realizes they can afford home ownership – that’s rewarding!”

Patience and her family chose Guntersville because of the beauty and the small town feel that the city has to offer them.  According to Patience, “Guntersville is a very beautiful place and I am truly blessed to be able to call it home.  We have it all – lake, trees, mountains…and that’s just the scenery.  Guntersville is the picture of what home town America should be.”  Patience and her family enjoy Lake Guntersville and the state park all the opportunities it affords them, including access to hiking and birding trails and good, clean, family fun.  Although Guntersville offers a small town feel, it is hardly without access to some large city attractions.  Relocate America named Guntersville as one of the top 100 places to live and Southern Living called Lake Guntersville the “Best Lake in Alabama”.  Guntersville’s unique location is just a short trek from Huntsville, Alabama, Birmingham, Alabama, Atlanta, Georgia and Chattanooga, Tennessee.
